TWO FORMER DORADOS NAMED TO ALL-ARENA TEAM

By Dorados Football | June 26, 2008

Hidalgo, Texas — The Rio Grande Valley Dorados, arenafootball2’s defending Southwest Division champions, today announced that two former Dorados have been named to the Arena Football League’s All-Arena team.

Marquis Floyd, who played for the Dorados in 2005, was named to the AFL All-Arena First Team as a member of the San Jose SaberCats. A defensive back, Floyd finished second overall in AFL stats with 10 interceptions while his 79 total tackles place him 21st in the league.

Floyd appeared in 16 regular season games for the Dorados in 2005, compiling 47 tackles and nine interceptions. He added one interception and 7.5 tackles in three playoff games. He was named the af2 US Army Ironman of the Year and made the af2’s First-Team All-League list.

Eddie Moten, who was a member of the Dorados in 2004, was named to the AFL All-Arena Second Team. He led the Philadelphia Soul with 93.5 tackles and six interceptions this past season. His total tackles were good enough for 13th overall in the league.

In 2004, Moten played in 11 games for RGV after finishing his collegiate career at Texas A&M-Kingsville. His play earned him All-af2 honors, while his two ADT Defensive Player of the Week selections made him the league’s only two-time winner during the 2004 season. Moten finished tied for the League lead with 10 interceptions and was named both Dorados Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.

The Dorados have this week off and return to the field on Friday, July 4, at Bossier-Shreveport. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen live on KURV 710 or log on to doradosfootball.com to watch the game live. The team returns home on Monday, July 14, vs. Corpus Christi.

Dorados single game tickets are available at all TicketMaster outlets, including online (www.ticketmaster.com) and at the Dodge Arena Box Office. Group tickets are available by calling 956-843-7825 and remain as low as $12 per game.
